The following are links to local bands that are toughing out the Chicago music scene. Many of them are friends, others are bands that left an impression. Click to check out their sites, where they're playing or find out how to get on their mailing lists for up-to-date information on gigs. This is just a start. I hope to grow this page quickly.

Tom Crivelone and Two for the Blues make up one of the hottest young (OK, it's relative) blues bands on the Chicago blues scene. TFB hosts the Tuesday night jam at Bill's Blues in Evanston, Ill., and often feature legendary bluesman Aron Burton on vocals and bass. |

The Cold Sweat sound can best be described as a solid blend of electrified blues and the rock n' roll of the '60s and '70s. |

This is Johnny's fomer band, some of whom still sit in with Johnny. When I asked lead guitarist Mark Burgess for a description of the band, he suggested, "a classic rock band with a callous disregard for the conventional." Far out! |

SOULed Slaves features former band mate Steve Torres on guitar. Classic soul, R&B, rock, funk with an original twist. |

What can I say, I love these guys. If you haven't seen them, get your ass on down to the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia, Chicago) on a Tuesday night and check them out. It's a real gumbo of music with blues and folk as its base. |

SODA! OK, its pop music, but played by one of the best damn pop bands anywhere. Great musicians, great voices, these guys can play just about anything for any occasion. Check out drummer Jeff Decker and the rest of the guys in SODA for a fun night of music and dancing. |
